Mobile App Frequency Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • 1. How do I sign in and out

    To sign in, simply open the App and insert your login details. If you wish to stay logged in, check the “Keep me logged in” box. Next, select the sign in button.
    In order to logout, either click on the menu that is displayed in the top left corner, scroll to the bottom and click “logout” or select the “logout” icon from the home menu.

  • 2. How do I book a Flat Rate or Fix Route trip?

    Once you’re logged in, click “Book a Ride” from either the menu in the top left corner or the home screen and insert your booking information. By default, the app will allow you to book a taxi for 1 person travelling immediately but you’re welcome to change the number of passengers, as well as the pick up date and time as you wish. You’ll notice that “Fix Route” is preselected so all you have to do is choose a route from the dropdown menu.
    Also, you’re welcome to select from a list of amenities (for example: since it’s so hot outside today, let’s book a taxi with air conditioning) and you can even give your driver special instructions (e.g. House nr. 5, blue with green shutters. Please don’t be late!).
    Then, you can opt for the driver nearest to you or choose a driver from your favourites’ list. This feature allow you to use your favourite driver.
    Finally, hit the “book” button down below and you’re done!

  • 3. How do I book an immediate Trip?

    Once you’re logged in, click “Book a Ride” from either the menu or the home screen and insert your booking information. By default, the app will allow you to book a taxi for 1 person immediately so you don’t have to worry about inserting this information if you’re in a hurry to get somewhere; but if you’re travelling in a group, make sure to change the number of passengers accordingly.
    Next, you can either select “Choose Route” which let’s you select your pickup and drop off location conveniently with Google Maps or you can choose a route from the dropdown menu displayed under the “Fix Route” option.
    You’re more than welcome to select from a list of amenities (for example: since it’s so hot outside today, let’s book a taxi with air conditioning) and you can even give your driver special instructions (e.g. House nr. 5, blue with green shutters. Please don’t be late!). Then, you can opt for the driver nearest to you or choose a driver from your favourites’ list. Finally, hit the “book” button down below and you’re done!

  • 4. How do I book an Advanced ( Future) trip?

    An Advance booking or Future trip is defined as any booking having a pick up time of more than 6 hours ahead of the booking time. Booking a ride in advance allows for better planning and piece of mind.
    To book an Advance or Future trip, once you’re logged in, click “Book a Ride” from either the menu in the top left corner or the home screen and insert your booking information. By default, the app will allow you to book a taxi for 1 person travelling immediately but if you’re planning a future trip, make sure to change the “Day”(Date) and “Time” accordingly. Next, you can either click “Choose Route” which let’s you select your pickup and dropoff location conveniently with Google Maps or “Fix Route” to pick a route from the dropdown menu.
    You’re welcome to select from a list of amenities (for example: since it’s so hot outside today, let’s book a taxi with air conditioning) and you can even give your driver special instructions (e.g. House nr. 5, blue with green shutters. Please don’t be late!). Then, you can opt for the driver nearest to you or choose a driver from your favourites’ list. Finally, hit the “book” button down below and you’re done!

  • 5. How do I book a business trip?

    Please note that this option is only available for YAWPa’s business users.
    Once you’re logged in, click “Book a Ride” from either the menu in the top left corner or the home screen. By default, the app will have the “Business Trip” rubric pre-selected and allow you to book a taxi for 1 person travelling immediately but you’re welcome to change the nr. of passengers, as well as the pick up date and time as you wish. You’ll notice that “Fix Route” is preselected so all you have to do is choose a route from the dropdown menu.
    Also, you’re welcome to select from a list of amenities (for example: since it’s so hot outside today, let’s book a taxi with air conditioning) and you can even give your driver special instructions (e.g. House nr. 5, blue with green shutters. Please don’t be late!). Automatically, we’ll select the driver nearest to you, so all you have to do is hit the “book” button down below and enter your security pin.

  • 6. Where do I review or update my profile?

    Once you’re logged in, to update your profile, click “Profile” from either the menu in the top left corner or the home screen. Here you can review your profile information. To edit, click the small pen in the top right corner of the screen.
    To insert a profile picture, click on the plus sign next to the icon and select “camera” to take a new photo or “gallery” to pick one from your gallery.
    To change information, simply go to the field you want to edit and do so by inserting text or selecting an option from the dropdown menu.

  • 7. Can I use and when and where do I enter my card details?

    Yawpa accepts Visa, Mastercard and American Express credit/debit cards and allows you to conveniently pay for your ride in the taxi.
    Unlike other Apps, there is no need to enter your credit card details on registration. At the end of your first ride using the App, you will receive a "Review Invoice" request. Open this request and select "Proceed to Payment". Then enter your credit card number, expiration date and the 3 digit code on the back of your card (CVV2); Save the card by giving it a name, setting a PIN and select save card. This will generate a payment token, i.e. we do not store your card details.
    You can then use this (tokenized) card entry for payemnt of your future rides. After selecting "Proceed to Payment", select the name of the card you previousy saved. The application will request you to enter your PIN to ensure that you are the authorized user; and then press "submit".

  • 8. How do I reset my password?

    Once you’re logged in, to update change your password, click “Settings” from the menu in the top left corner and click “Change Password”. Now, enter your current password followed by your new password and confirm the new password. Next, click save.

  • 9. How do I cancel my booking request?

    Once you’re logged in, you can cancel your booking request by clicking “History” from either the menu in the top left corner or the home screen. Here you’ll find a list of your most recent trips, including those you’ve booked but not yet taken on. To cancel a trip, simply select the trip and click “cancel”. Finally, you’ll receive a notification that your trip has been cancelled.
    Note: in some cases where the driver has accepted your trip request a cancellation fee might be applicable.

  • 10. How can I find and send a job request to my favourite driver?

    To find and send a job to your favourite driver:
    After signing into the App, on the main menu select "Favourites". Then select "All Drivers" and in the search window enter the name of the driver you want to find; and press the search icon. When the driver's name appears, press on the star icon next to their name to make the driver a favourite. Once your favourite driver(s) are set up, when booking a trip request (see 2., 3., and 4. above) instead of selecting "nearest driver", select "choose driver". This wil bring up the list of your favourite drivers. Select your favourite driver from the list.

  • 11. Tips for booking a trip faster...

    Once you’re logged in, to book your trips even faster, you have several options:
    Option 1: Click “History” from either the menu in the top left corner or the home screen. From here you can easily re-book a trip you’ve booked before over YAWPa once before by selecting the trip and clicking the “Book again” button below.
    Option 2: Select a location from your favorite. You can do this while “booking a ride” under the “choose route” option. Click choose route and select a location from your favorites by clicking the star in the top right corner of the screen and selecting from the dropdown menu. To add a location to your favorites, click “Add New”, enter your location and choose a name. Once you click the plus sign, your location will been saved to your favorites and you can select it from the dropdown menu that appears when clicking on the star.
    Option 3: Select a driver from your favorites. To add a driver to your favorites, select “Favorites” and under “All Drivers,” you will find a list of all available drivers. Locate your favorite taxi driver and click on the star to the right of their name. Select, “Yes.”
    In summary, to book a trip faster, you can either re-book a trip from your history or make use of the favorite trip and favorite driver options.

  • 12. How do find and review a driver's ratings?

    Once you’ve logged in, you can find and review drivers' rating in the Favourite menu.
